Lauri had to say...I'm a single chick, no kids, enjoying life in the Old South! I'm a transplant from the north and enjoy not having to shovel snow! I mostly read contemporary fiction, historicals (but not the hardcore "romance" type - no Fabio on the cover please!), chick lit, family sagas (love a huge thick book spanning generations!!!!), some classics, and suspense/horror/thriller. I don't usually read mysteries (not that into cozies, sorry!), Harlequin-type romances or westerns. I love to bake, but I'm not really domestic. I don't like house knick-knacks, kitchen stuff, holiday decorations, etc. I don't really "get" the concept of having stuff you can only set out for a month or so of each year. I don't have a lot of storage space, so the stuff I do have stays out all the time. I do love candles, though...I burn them all the time! I like most scents, especially fruity and/or floral ones. The only ones I don't care for are coconut smelling things... I love tea - everything is good except things flavored like coffee, licorice or coconut. Caffeine, decaf, herbal...I drink it all! I love cool mugs and tea gadgets. Bath goodies...mmmmmm....bubble bath, shower gel, soap...major addiction!!! The only things I'm not really fond of are coconut (Hhhhmmm...there's a theme here!) and scents that smell heavily of patchouli (I think that's how you spell it...) and related incense-like/hippy smelling aromas. I don't want my bathroom smelling like a head shop! LOL! I have long (just past shoulders) reddish hair and love hair thingies. Clips, barettes, pony tail holders, scrunchies, etc...all good. I prefer neutrals (tortoiseshell, black, navy, white, beige, earth tones) but bright colors are fun too...you just can't wear them with everything. Daaaarrkkk chocolate...mmmmm... I travel a lot, so I like travel gizmos. I also like to do counted cross stitch, read boatloads of books (of course...hehehehehe) and shop. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE shoes...I have almost 400 pairs! I've recently started beading...I'm a novice but I like it! I love wine - I take classes and go to tastings whenever possible! I'm kind of a cork dork! I love watching movies in the theatre...it's the whole experience. Big screen, popcorn...wonderful. I try to write fiction...I think it's probably awful. Things I can't pass by in the dollar store: bath goodies, lotions, candles, picture frames, note paper, office supplies (love cool pens, markers, notepads, sticky notes, magnets and stuff!), nail polish (pinks, reds, peaches, "traditional" colors...no blues, greens, etc.) and polish remover, bookmarks, packing tape (to wrap up all my PBS books!), mint gum (especially the Icy Breeze...yum!), sewing kits for purse and drawer at work, cosmetic brushes/cases and bath scrubbies, makeup sponges, gift bags (the dollar store has the BEST gift bags...I won't buy them anywhere else!), air fresheners for my car and lip gloss. (Why is it there's always great lip gloss at the dollar store???) I also like word find and crossword puzzle books (the harder the better) and have been known to linger over the cheap snack and candy aisle. I prefer dark chocolates (no nuts except peanuts), hard candies (no butterscotch or coffee flavors) and chewy fruity things. No black licorice. I have a witchy black cat named Familiar - she's spoiled rotten. Some things she REALLY likes for pet swaps: catnip (she prefers the dried leaves in the plastic tub...) grow it yourself cat grass (she goes ape!), moist cat treats (she's tried Friskies, Temptations and Aquari-yums with success - she's not too fond of Pounce), sparkle ball cat toys (the little round puffs that look like Christmas garland), Whiskas cat milk and Whiskas Purrfectly Fish moist packets, Sheba wet food (I only give it to her as a treat) and tuna. She loves tuna in water. Dollar store treats for her are welcome! I love my Mini Cooper. Hhhhmmm..what else??? I'll have to think about that for a bit...
